I believe that prior to the accident, they were using the clock on the camera to space out when they turned the phones on to check for signals. The same as the Dutch girls underestimated the dangers of the jungle, most people on the net do not know about them either, so they search for human culprits like Hollywood-style mass-murderers or fall into racist patterns of "barbaric indigenous people". A human body does not fall into pieces even when dragged in white water, but severely decayed human remains do. It's sick yellow hue comes from decaying body fat and maybe tannins from dead foliage. What I've experienced myself from the decay of bodies, Kris's pelvis bone does look like being part of decomposition in a very moist environment. When the incoming floods of the rainy seasons got a hold of their bodies and belongings, their bodies were already in a state of advanced decomposition.

I imagine them dying side by side on the banks of the Rio Culebra, falling asleep and never waking up. I also believe diarrhea could be the fact that made Kris take off her denim shorts, as they became very hindering if you have to go into the bushes every few minutes. I guess because they slept during most of the day because they became too weak for anything else. But in the end there is no more phone activity in the morning. A dreadfully sleepless, creepy and cold night in the cloud forest must have motivated them to use the next day for the best. In the beginning the smart phone logs show activity in the early morning. And if you spend 2-3 days sh***ing your guts out, things become life-threatening very fast without any foul play or accidents. But the following vomiting and diarrhea have the effect that the bodies loses even more water - no matter how much river water you drink. Even if you have some experience and know that (to the foreign stomach) harmful microbes in the water can cause massive sickness, things look very differently to you when the dehydration becomes to great you would kill for a sip of water. Usually lost hikers start drinking river water. They started their hiking trip with minimal food and water and must have suffered great thirst and hunger a few days in. Personally I think the girls simply but tragically died from exhaustion, mainly dehydration. I live on the land - kinda off-grid - and am deeply interested in all kinds of human survival experiences and have some experience with the realities of being in the wild. I believe they show them on their way up towards the Mirador at the Continental Divide. For anyone fascinated like me with the disappearance of the two Dutch girls Kris Kremers (21) and Lisanne Froon (22) near Boquéte, Panama: the following Spanish video features some new photos from Kris and Lisanne on April 1, 2014.
